Travis, Phil & Friend Acoustic Guitars

Date: Aug 01, 2019
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Location(s):

"The Cedar Valley’s Phil & Travis are Phil Watson & Travis Wilson. We formed our Acoustic Duo in the fall of 2012 after talking about guitars & music for a long time at our common place of work. We found that we both love the music of Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and the British Invasion. Since then we have expanded our repertoire to include country, western and sing-along songs.

We are able to expand our duo by adding a bass player and drummer as needed.

Phil is from London, England and was in the right place to see the great bands that played in the late 1960’s. After playing at home for many years, he finally played in public as a guest guitarist for area bands. A debt of gratitude is owed to Mick Staebell of Anything Goes, Jim Reidy of Midlife Crisis and Bob Dorr of The Blue Band.

Travis is from Kansas City by way of Mason City.

We gained a lot of experience playing at Jameson’s Open Mic and the Cedar Valley Acoustic Guitar Association members have been incredibly supportive.

We have played at The Brass Tap, Lark Brewing, The Blue Room, Jameson’s Friday After Work, Elms Pub at New Aldaya, the Blue Band New Year’s Eve Extravaganza, the CVAGA Regent Shows, Overman Park Movies Under The Moon, the Elks Club, the Cup of Joe and Fat Cup coffee shops and at charity benefits in the Cedar Valley.

We are regulars at the Elms Pub Friday Music Nights at New Aldaya and may be found some Wednesday evenings at Jameson’s Open Mic in Waterloo.

So come out and sit back and enjoy an evening of music!"
