SYDNEY MATTHIAS 2022 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Sydney Matthias as the 2022 Bremer County Fair Queen!


Sydney Matthias - 17, is the daughter of Aaron and Meesha Matthias. She is the newly crowned 2022 Miss Readlyn and is sponsored by the Readlyn Community Club. This fall Sydney will be a senior at Wapsie Valley High School where she is involved in volleyball, basketball, golf, softball, student ambassadors, Junior High mentoring program, SIAC committee student representative, Silver Cord, and FFA, Sydney is currently the president of the Rainbow Clover 4-H Club. Sydney’s future plans are to play volleyball & pursue a degree in animal science.

CARLY STEIERT Crowned 2021 Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Carly Steiert as the 2021 Bremer County Fair Queen!


Carly Steiert – 18, is the daughter of Kurt and Christy Steiert. She is the 2021 Bremer County Beef Princess and is sponsored by the Bremer County Cattlemen. This fall Carly will be attending the University of Northern Iowa to major in marketing and real estate. She is a recent graduate of Waverly – Shell Rock High School where she was active in cross country, soccer, wrestling managing, FFA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, student council and National Honor Society.

2020 Queen Corona

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, There was No Queen Contest in 2020, Lexi Mohlis, crowned in 2019, kept the reign for the year and will be able to pass the crown in 2021.

LEXI MOHLIS 2019 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Lexi Mohlis as the 2019 Bremer County Fair Queen!


Lexi Mohlis – 18, is the daughter of Brian and Jen Mohlis. She is sponsored by GJurgensen Scrap Division. Lexi is a 2019 graduate of Tripoli High School where she was active in SADD, NHS, student council, TAG, DECA, band choir, musicals, movies, speech, boys basketball manager, and football manager. Lexi is a member of the Dayton Dodgers 4-H Club, Bremer County Youth Council, and was a member of the state 4-H Youth Council. Lexi will be attending Iowa State University this fall and is majoring in ag business.

Hannah Folkerts 2018 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Hannah Folkerts as the 2018 Bremer County Fair Queen!

Hannah Folkerts, 18, is the daughter of Neil and Connie Folkerts. She is sponsored by Northeast Iowa Livestock Supply. Hannah is a 2018 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School where she was active in volleyball, tennis, wrestling cheerleading, SADD, FFA, and National Honor Society. She Is also a member of the Do-R-Best 4-H Club, Bremer County 4-H Youth Council, and various Belted Galloway Associations. This fall Hannah plans on attending Iowa State University where she will major in Animal Science.

Sydney Hansen 2017 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Sydney Hansen as the 2017 Bremer County Fair Queen!

Sydney Hansen, 17 is the daughter of Chad and Andrea Hansen. She is the newly crowned Miss Plainfield and is sponsored by the Plainfield Days Committee. Sydney attends Nashua-Plainfield High School where she is active in National Honor Society, track, Husky Leadership Team, Future Problem Solvers, and Athletic Development Program. She is also the volleyball, basketball, and softball team captain. After graduation she would like to attend Wartburg College to play volleyball while preparing to pursue a career in the medical field.

Emilie Spratt 2016 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Emilie Spratt as the 2016 Bremer County Fair Queen.

Emilie Spratt, 18 is the daughter of Timothy and Christine Spratt. She is the reigning 2016 Dairy Princess and is sponsored by the Bremer County Dairy Promoters. She is a 2016 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock High School where she was active in cross-country, track, NEXUS, FFA and 4-H. This fall Emilie plans on attending Des Moines Area Community College where she will study to become a veterinary technician.

HAILEY SCHMITZ 2015 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Hailey Schmitz as the 2015 Bremer County Fair Queen. Hailey is the 17 year old daughter of Tom and Paula Geise and Bernard Schmitz. She is Miss Plainfield 2015 and is sponsored by the Plainfield Days Committee. This fall Hailey will be a senior at Nashua-Plainfield High School where she is involved in National Honor Society, FCCLA, Honor Choir, FFA, speech, basketball, cross country, golf, softball, dance and 4-H. After graduation Hailey plans to attend Wartburg College and major in Biology.


Ally Klein 2014 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Ally Klein as the 2014 Bremer County Fair Queen. Ally is the 17 year old daughter of Lora Klein of Readlyn. She is Miss Readlyn 2014 and is sponsored by the Readlyn Savings Bank. This fall Ally will be a senior at Wapsie Valley High School where she is the football manager, FFA chapter treasurer, and sings the National Anthem for football and basketball games. After graduation Ally plans to attend Army Basic Training and then begin her duties with the Army Reserves while she gets her degree in military psychology.

Hannah Pagel 2013 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Hannah Pagel as the 2013 Bremer County Fair Queen. Hannah Pagel is the 17 year old daughter of Rick and Theresa Pagel from Sumner and is the current reigning Miss Sumner. Hannah will begin her senior year at Sumner-Fredericksburg this fall, where she has been actively involved in basketball, show choir, TATU, Wellness Committee, National Honors Society, Get-A-Grip and is Vice-President of the Class of 2014 as well as current FFA Chapter President.

Abrah Meyer 2012 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is pleased to announce Abrah Meyer as the 2012 Bremer County Fair Queen and the 2012 Iowa State Fair Queen!

Abrah is the daughter of Brian and Brenda Meyer of Readlyn. This fall she will be a
senior at Wapsie Valley where she is active in National Honor Society, FFA, church
youth group, volleyball, basketball, track, softball, cross country, choir and dance team. Abrah is the Northeast Iowa District FFA Vice-President, Wapsie Valley FFA Chapter President, as well as senior class president.

When asked: What does the Bremer County Fair mean to your community? Abrah
responded, “…It means CELEBRATION – it’s a chance for local 4-H and FFA members to exhibit all of the work that they have completed throughout the year. Whether it’s showing livestock, working the concession stand, participating in the scrambles, swimming at the 4-H pool party or exhibiting various other projects. The fair brings out the best of those members and rewards them for their dedication. My community shows an outstanding appreciation toward the fair board and those who help organize the fair because of the environment that the fair provides. I thank you for making the Bremer County Fair an everlasting memory to the kids, club members, adults and families of my community…”

Alecia Knapp 2011 Bremer County Fair Queen

We're pleased to introduce the 2011 Bremer County Fair Queen, Alecia Knapp!

Alecia is the daughter of Chris and Shannon Knapp of Waverly and is a 2011 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock. She has been active in 4-H and FFA, Orchestra, Speech and National Honor Society. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin at Platteville to study Animal Science and Biology to pursue becoming a large animal Veterinarian or nutritionalist.

Jordan Skillen 2010 Bremer County Fair Queen

The Bremer County Fair Association is proud to announce Jordan Skillen as the 2010 Bremer County Fair Queen. She was crowned Sunday at a grand banquet sponsored by the Bremer County Banker's Association, Sunrise Catering and The Center Inn, Readlyn.
