Katie Diemer

The Bremer County ISU Extension office is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Diemer as their new 4-H Youth, and Families Coordinator. A 2012 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural and Life Sciences Education with emphasis in Animal Science, she will guide the nearly 400 Bremer County 4-H and Clover Kids along with many dedicated adult leaders and volunteers.

She brings a wide background in 4-H and FFA activities, teaching, marketing and social media, plus broad livestock and crop experiences. Raised on the family farm in the Sumner-Fredericksburg area, she held numerous offices in both her local 4-H and FFA clubs plus served on the Fayette 4-H county council. She received the FFA American Farmer degree.

Their family seed stock Boer Goats have been successfully exhibited at national, state and open shows all over the U.S. They had the Champion Fullblood Buck and Reserve Champion Fullblood Doe at the 2014 Iowa State Fair. The Diemer’s use the latest technology to develop their herd including embryo transfer, laproscopic AI, and have their own website for genetic education and marketing. She has served on the Iowa Meat goat Association board for several years.
