Make plans to view this historical folk dancing performance. Les LeLone will be at the call and everyone will be sure to be entertained.Square dancing is an old-time entertainment that is still done all over the world. In some countries it is even required in school because of the health benefits of dancing. The Bremer County Fair Board is excited to bring this piece of history back to the Fair in 2010 to honor our heritage and its great traditions. The caller for the square dancing at the 2011 Bremer County Fair is Les LeLone from Hawkeye, Iowa. He has been a caller for 43 years and is a member of the Square Dance Hall of Fame of the State of Iowa. Les currently calls in five states regularly each year. He has called and taught square dancing to families with children as young as 12 years old and adults in excess of 80 years old. He currently has a square dancer who is 103 years old. The cost of square dancing is very low so anyone interested in joining or wanting to learn to square dance is encouraged to contact Les LeLone at 563-427-3332.
