The Bremer County Fair farmer tractor and truck pull is one of the biggest and best farmer pulls in the area.
If you love truck and tractor pulls, don't miss this year's event. Last year we had over 150 hooks and this year we expect even more!

All Youth (3rd grade and above) will have an opportunity to participate in a youth bean bag tournament! Separated in grade divisions with teams of 3, youth will have the opportunity to compete for the champion Youth Bean Bag Tournament title!! All those interested need to register in the 4-H Blue Building Sunday August 1 or by 10:00 am Monday August 2nd. Come and try out your skills!!

August 2, 2010 - 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Enter at East door Exhibits should arrive at the east door of the (blue) 4-H building at the fairgrounds between 3:00-6:00pm on Monday, August 2nd, 2010. NO LATER! A No pre-entry is required. Classes in this division are open to anyone who wishes to exhibit with one exception, 4-H’ers cannot enter the same exhibit in both 4-H classes and open classes. Example: if a 4-H’er enters a plate of cookies in the 4-H food class, he or she cannot enter a plate of the same in the open class division.

This new contest challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined number of ingredients. From these ingredients, team members must identify and prepare the dish, then make a presentation about it to a panel of judges. The presentation will include information about the serving size, nutritional value, cost of the dish, food safety, and impact of using local foods. Enter your team of three 4-H members in either the Intermediate or Senior division. Please register by July 12th (date change). Information available at the Extension Office.

A new fun and exciting feature this year at the 135th Bremer County Fair is the 1st Annual Cow Chip Bingo Contest. Contestants can purchase tickets all day Friday August 6th and Saturday August 7th until 1:00pm when a Bremer Bovine will be placed in the special pen near the Snack Shak. The pen’s grass bottom will have a bingo card painted and numbered. The Bovine will select the winner by “voting” on the number……in case of a tie, the winner will be decided by the Barn Quilt committee. The grand prize is a custom made wooden Bremer Barn Quilt, and the winner can select the style and color.

Bremer County Fair Chili Cook-off Official Rules and Regulations

1. Entry forms can be picked up at the fair office up until the time of judging.
2. Each participant is asked to provide 1 GALLON of chili and turning in 1 cup of chili for judging.
3. Chili is to consist of any kind of meat, beans, vegetables, or combination thereof, cooked with chili peppers, spices and other ingredients. If you’d like, please provide a recipe for your chili entry.
4. Fairboard/Cook-off coordinators will be at the Fair Board office to assist with check-in and space allocation-first come first serve.
